1. What CandidCost is

CandidCost is an educational information service. We turn public government data into calculators, explainers, and reference tables. We are not a mortgage lender, mortgage broker, real estate broker, financial advisor, credit counselor, or law firm, and nothing on this site is an offer to lend or a solicitation for any loan or financial product.

2. No advice, no recommendations

Our tools describe how numbers work. They do not tell you what to do, which loan to choose, whether to buy, or which provider to use. Outputs are estimates for education only and are not an approval, a pre-qualification, a rate quote, or a guarantee of any term. Always verify figures with a licensed professional and your own loan documents before making a decision.

3. Accuracy and data sources

We build on public data (for example HMDA, FRED, and county records) and publish the source, retrieval date, and methodology version for the numbers we show. Public data can lag, contain errors, or be superseded. We flag staleness where we can, but we do not warrant that any figure is current, complete, or free of error.

4. No referrals or kickbacks

We do not sell leads, accept referral fees, or take commissions from lenders, brokers, or agents. Where we describe programs or providers, we do so for information only, without endorsement.

5. Limitation of liability

The site and tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CandidCost is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the information provided here.

6. Changes

We may update these terms and our methodologies over time. Material changes to a calculation are recorded with a methodology version so prior results remain interpretable.

7. Intellectual property

The site's design, text, calculators, and methodology write-ups are the property of Vaspera Capital or its licensors and are provided for your personal, educational use. The underlying public government data we build on is not ours and carries no such restriction. You may quote or link to our figures with attribution; you may not resell or repackage the site itself as your own product.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts.

10. Purchases and refunds

The First-Time Buyer Command Center kit is a one-time US$49 purchase, not a subscription. If it is not a fit, you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked, by replying to your purchase-confirmation email. A refund ends your access to the kit. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

11. Kit license

Your purchase grants a personal, non-transferable license to use the kit’s worksheets, checklists, and explanations for your own homebuying. The kit is educational and, like the rest of the site, is not advice — it explains how the math and public rules work and never tells you what to do. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute the kit. The public government data it cites is not ours and carries no such restriction.

12. Saved kit workspace

The $49 Command Center kit includes an optional saved workspace that stores the homebuying numbers you enter (not your name or email) so you can return to your personalized kit. Using the save feature is your choice; you can delete the saved workspace at any time from within the kit, and a refund also ends access. The $19 Templates kit stores nothing — it is a static download.
